Show 457: Where There’s a Quill, 20th August, Edinburgh Fringe

In a 19th century London printing shop, the owner Mr Collins is rather taken with his ward Mabel. But she is rather taken with Colin, the young printer who has started there. And Colin’s mother – recently split up from Charles Dickens – is rather taken with Mr Collins.

Everyone falls for everyone and Dickens ends up producing a musical of his less-well known work ‘The Cold Banana’. This show is notable for starting with a montage of the entire history of writing.
