Show 969 – A Joust in Time – 6th September – Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, Guildford

Setting: A medieval leisure centre

Sir Bedvedere wishes to upgrade his Leisure Centre, replacing ‘old fashioned torture chambers’ with progressive ideas like smoothie bars. He soon faces opposition, not only from workers Meg One Eye and Sludge, but indeed from the King himself. Bedvedere falls in love with pool attendant Guinevere, who turns out to be more inspiring and progressive than anybody is ready for. As a result, she is thown into the river, tried as a witch. Guinevere survives and escapes, planning to make a triumphant return at the jousting tournament, just as the King and Bedvedere are about to strike each other down. But will she arrive in time?
